The opposition APRC party, under the leadership of the exiled former Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh, is calling on its supporters, particularly elected Councillors not to attend the upcoming Women’s Bureau meeting, Freedom Radio Gambia can reveal. The party’s leadership opines that attending such a meeting amounts to one supporting the Adama Barrow coalition led government. Hence, it calls on its supporters and elected officials to stay away from the meeting.

“Inform our elected councillors not to attend the women Bureau meeting as it’s objective is to persuade people to support coalition party,” the statement read.

“All APRC councillors are answerable to APRC party and it is only APRC party that can dismiss them from their positions as elected councillors as such we are not taking it lightly if any of our councillor decide to side with other parties,” the statement warns.
